Elected leaders are supposed to lead by example, but that’s not the case for Cambridge’s Mayor Andrew Bradshaw. Mayor Andrew Bradshaw of Cambridge, Maryland has been charged with 50 counts of distributing revenge porn.
Court records reveal in May, a woman who formerly had a romantic relationship with Bradshaw discovered inappropriate pictures of herself were uploaded to Reddit without her consent.
According to CNN, Bradshaw faces two years in jail and could receive a $5,000 fine for each nude photo he uploaded of the victim. City officials of Cambridge (which has a population of a little over 12,000) stated they are still gathering information regarding Bradshaw’s charges.
Bradshaw, who is a Republican, was elected in 2021 and the city of Cambridge’s youngest mayor to be elected.

What is Going on in Maryland?
The state of Maryland has been plagued with sexual crimes committed by public officials. In September, a Maryland judge committed suicide after federal agents found a substantial amount of evidence showing him allegedly filming teenage boys naked in his cabin.
Circuit Court Judge of Caroline County Judge Johnathan Newell was found dead inside of his home from gunshot wounds. This occurred minutes after FBI agents began to swarm his home to arrest him on child exploitation charges.

Newell was under investigation in July after one of the boys who visited Newell’s cabin discovered there was a camera inside of Newell’s shower. After police received the tip, investigators obtained search warrants and raided Newell’s home, law office, and cabin.
During the search, police found a hard drive that showed Newell’s face setting up the camera. It would proceed to show young teenage boys naked getting showers.

Police reported Newell also allegedly swallowed an SD card while they searched his home. Investigators were asking Newell questions when he asked to charge his phone. While Newell was in his bedroom, police noticed he stuck his hand underneath his bed, took out a small chip, and started chewing it.
When investigators questioned Newell about what he was chewing, he refused to answer, reached for a glass of water, and drank it. Police then took Newell to a local hospital to get a CT scan, which revealed Newell swallowed a foreign object.
Newell was nominated to be a judge by Governor Larry Hogan. Gov. Logan previously stated Newell had great character, but it appears Hogan never knew the monster living inside of Newell.
As of right now, no further information has been revealed about the case. However, being Newell took his life, it’s unsure if anyone else was involved in the incident. It also hasn’t been revealed what was on the SD card he swallowed.
