Republican Senator of Arkansas Tom Cotton gave the Biden administration a dire warning which stated that China may attempt to collect DNA samples from American Athletes participating in the 2022 Winter Olympics. He didn’t stop there though and also pressed the Biden administration to give American athletes protection as they go to compete in Beijing in 2022.
Cotton gave his warning in a form of a letter and was quoted saying American athletes participating in the 2022 Olympics will face “unique challenges for the safety, security, and privacy of Americans who attend”. Cotton who’s a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee said the CCP “considers DNA collection a vital intelligence-gathering objective”. The Senator from Arkansas went on to say that China may take genetic samples in disguise in the form of COVID-19 testing. On the House Floor on Tuesday Cotton took a step further and even demanded that the United States should boycott the 2022 Olympics that’s being held in Beijing.

China’s Current Human Rights Violations
The idea that the 2022 Winter Olympics is being held by a country that has been found guilty of major human rights violations is baffling. A recent UN report stated that “they were extremely alarmed by reports of alleged ‘organ harvesting’ targeting minorities, including Falun Gong practitioners, Uyghurs, Tibetans, Muslims, and Christians, in detention in China”.
Experts within the UN have confirmed that the CCP has forced ethnic and religious minorities to get their blood tested and organs examined against their will. Chinese officials would then register their findings into a database that facilitates organ allocation. According to a UN report by the United Nation Human Rights “the most common organs removed from the prisoners are reportedly hearts, kidneys, livers, corneas and, less commonly, parts of livers”.

The Hypocrisy of the Left Regarding China
While the left was too busy boycotting the MLB’s all-star game in Georgia for supposedly “racist” election laws, they’ve completely ignored China’s human rights violations. If they used the same amount of time and energy they used when they impeached Trump then we would have a solution to ending Organ Harvesting in China. Now’s the time for both Republicans and Democrats to press China to stop violating human rights and work on bipartisan agreements before more people lose their lives at the hands of the CCP.
Now’s not the time for John Kerry to take trips to China to talk about climate change but rather it’s time to hold China accountable for the mass murders they have committed against their people. Cotton is right, our American athletes do need extra protection while they are in China because if the CCP is not afraid to murder their people what makes you think they won’t swab DNA samples from our athletes?
