It’s been six months since Air Force Veteran Ashli Babbit was shot during the Capitol siege on January 6th. Most Republican and Democrats have been fine without an answer but Russian President Vladimir Putin in his most recent interview opened Pandora’s box and asked if the “US government” assassinated her.
Interviewer Keir Simmons conducted the interview and at one point asked Russia’s President about the imprisonment of opposition leader Alexei Navalny. Putin immediately took defense and flipped the question right on Simmons and said Do you know that 450 individuals were arrested after entering the Congress? They came there with political demands,” He continued and said “Did you order the assassination of the woman who walked into the Congress and who was shot and killed by a policeman?” The woman Putin was referring to was Air Force Veteran Ashli Babbit who was shot dead while she entered through a window inside of the Capitol Building.
Putin also dismissed all the accusations against him for the recent cyber-attacks against the United States. Putin was then quoted saying: ‘We have been accused of all kinds of things – election interference, cyberattacks and so on and so forth – and not once, not once, not one time”. The Daily Mail added to the story and reported that Putin declined any involvement in election meddling too.

So who shot Ashli Babbit?
While the FBI and Capitol Police have viewed thousands of hours of footage in order to arrest Trump supporters they have failed to release any photos of the officer who gunned Babbit down. Which is hypocritical considering whenever there’s a police involved shooting that doesn’t involve a Trump supporter the officer is immediately arrested and is front headlines on networks like CNN and NBC. Just imagine if a female BLM or Antifa protestor was gunned down inside of the Capitol Building, complete chaos would ensue. In April the Department of Justice decided that they would not release the name of the officer who shot Babbit and also forego any charges against him too. As of right now Babbit’s husband Aaron is seeking answers but has had no luck on fin doing out the identity of the officer who killed his wife.
Yesterday, Ashli Babbit's name was trending. Today, the DOJ closes the investigation into her death. This is a woman that served her country.
We cannot live in a country like this.

A Possible Lead
There’s has been one small lead though, Aaron’s attorney in an interview with Tucker Carlson went on record saying he believes that the officer who killed Ashli is the same officer who made headlines in 2019 for leaving a loaded handgun in a bathroom inside the Capitol building. Although this has not been confirmed it’s a good start considering the U.S. government has been absolutely silent regarding the incident. So although President Putin may not be liked much in most American’s eyes at least he asked a question that most politicians are staying away from and that’s “who killed Ashli Babbit?”.
