A Cincinnati private school teacher sparked nationwide outrage after posting a video expressing disappointment that an assassination attempt on President Trump failed, prompting immediate calls for her termination and credential review.
Teacher’s Disturbing Social Media Post
Corinne Baum, identified through LinkedIn as a teacher at The Children’s House, a private Montessori-style school in Cincinnati, posted a TikTok video lamenting that President Trump survived an assassination attempt. In the video, Baum cryptically referenced content creators who suggested Friday or the previous day “could have been the day,” then expressed dismay at waking up to news that wasn’t “THAT news”—clearly indicating she hoped for Trump’s death. The video quickly went viral after being shared by the popular Libs of TikTok account.
The Assassination Attempt Details
The incident Baum referenced involved 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen of Torrance, California, who charged a security checkpoint and exchanged gunfire with Secret Service agents. Surveillance footage captured Allen sprinting past metal detectors before being tackled and subdued by agents. One Secret Service agent was struck during the confrontation but survived thanks to protective equipment. President Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and other officials were evacuated safely. Allen, who was previously honored as “Teacher of the Month” in December 2024, wrote in his manifesto that he targeted administration members.
Swift Public Backlash
Social media users immediately began investigating Baum’s online presence, uncovering additional TikTok videos displaying what critics characterized as extreme political views. Parents, lawmakers, and conservative commentators flooded social media demanding her immediate firing and calling for the Ohio Department of Education to investigate her teaching credentials. The Children’s House website appeared to experience technical difficulties or was taken down amid the controversy. By Sunday evening, concerned citizens were sharing Ohio’s official educator misconduct reporting link, encouraging formal complaints against Baum.
Legal Consequences for Attacker
U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro confirmed that Cole Tomas Allen faces multiple federal charges, including using a firearm during a crime of violence and assault on a federal officer using a dangerous weapon. Allen was scheduled for arraignment Monday. The case raises serious questions about the appropriateness of educators expressing support for political violence, particularly those working with young children in formative educational environments.

If these are the type of people “teaching” our children, it’s time to change God Bless America to God Help America.
